PC 5.00c officially fixes voiceovers becoming quieter after opening different pause-menu tabs. If your symptom matches, update the PC build first. That specific fix does not establish that every low-dialogue problem, or a PS5 report, has the same cause.
Test the menu-related symptom
- Record the full PC version.
- After updating, compare dialogue in one scene before and after opening the pause-menu tabs.
- Check whether music and effects remain normal while voiceover alone changes.
- Keep the output device and volume unchanged during the comparison.
This isolates the official symptom more usefully than turning several sliders and Windows output settings at once. If the game-wide volume is low from the first launch, document that separately from a voiceover change triggered by the menu.
TV, headphones and output profile
In the cited October 1 community thread, some PS5 players associated a quiet-dialogue problem with the selected TV or 3D-audio output setup. This is an individual report, not proof of an official console fix.
Check that the console’s selected output device and profile match your actual TV, soundbar or headphones. Note the current values before changing them, compare one setting at a time in the same scene, and restore the prior setting if the comparison does not help. Avoid compensating with an extreme master volume that makes effects unexpectedly loud.
What a useful report includes
Record platform, full build, output hardware, output profile, voiceover language and whether the change follows a menu action. State whether all sound or only dialogue is affected. Console patch numbers and PC patch notes are separate evidence. We have no verified universal mixer preset or a current claim that 5.00c repaired PS5 audio.
