In the Heart of the Woods: Harald or Sven and the leshen totems

Investigate Fayrlund’s woodland spirit, then choose Harald’s offering or Sven’s marked-villager and totem route before expecting a leshen fight.

Harald and Sven offer different resolutions. Harald’s route appeases the woodland spirit with wolf hearts; Sven’s route identifies the marked villager and destroys three totems before confronting the leshen. The offering route does not also require killing the monster.

Identify the spirit in Fayrlund

Take the woodland-spirit notice in Kaer Trolde and investigate the victim near Fayrlund. Follow the tracks to the standing stones, then read the bestiary entry. This establishes the marked-villager problem before the choice of resolution.

Keep a save before committing to a village faction. Both branches have story consequences; neither should be presented as a guaranteed way to preserve everyone.

Pick the task you want to finish

RouteCore action
HaraldDefeat the altar’s wolves and make the heart offering
SvenIdentify Hilde as marked, resolve her removal, destroy the three totems, then track the leshen

For Sven’s branch, the totems and the marked person are prerequisites, not optional loot stops. If the leshen encounter is absent, compare those objectives with the journal before wandering the forest searching for a random spawn.

Return to the selected contact

Finish the chosen branch’s return conversation and inspect the journal result. If your aim is the monster’s kill loot, choose the confrontation branch rather than expecting an offering to produce the same items.

This is a historical quest route. We do not have a verified Remastered achievement checklist or a fix for every totem interaction report. For a different curse puzzle, see Ulle’s arena; for absent intended contract loot, use the trophy checklist.
