Protect tournament and quest-reward cards first, then work through merchants and ordinary opponents. A Miraculous Guide to Gwent narrows regional and random-player gaps; it does not name every missing card.
Base-game collection spoilers, sourced to older Steam guides. Not a new 5.x card or achievement test, and not a complete expansion-card database.
Check these opportunities before moving on

Some NPC cards have later fallback pickups, so a departed character is not automatically proof of a ruined collection. The table prioritizes opportunities; check the individual card and current quest before replaying hours.
Use the book to narrow the search
The legacy guide places A Miraculous Guide to Gwent with the White Orchard scholar or a later merchant near St. Gregory’s Bridge in Novigrad. Read it after collecting a card. A regional count points toward that region’s purchases or named opportunities; the ordinary-player counter points toward new eligible opponents.
Keep your own short checklist of merchants visited and first wins. Repeatedly beating one already-rewarded opponent is not a substitute for finding another card source.
When the quest and trophy disagree
Separate a missing card from a platform achievement that did not trigger. Record the book counters, quest state and exact missing card if known. Check console modded-save rules before assuming a collection bug. For Lambert’s quest overlap, use Following the Thread. Do not confuse platform trophies with the monster trophy loot item.
