At the remaining-leads stage, progress Ladies of the Wood to learn about Anna, then return to the Baron. Rechecking every room at Crow’s Perch is not the next step once the earlier investigation and Tamara report are complete.
Main-story spoilers. This page resolves the documented legacy quest dependency; it does not diagnose every missing marker on a 5.x save.
Match the objective before changing quests

Continue the Anna branch
- Keep a manual save and read both quests’ active objectives.
- Switch the tracked quest to Ladies of the Wood rather than expecting Family Matters to place a fresh local marker.
- Complete the investigation that reveals Anna’s connection to the Crones.
- Return to Crow’s Perch and speak with the Baron about what you learned.
- Check the next Ciri story objective and the separate Return to Crookback Bog opportunity.
The journal’s progression is the useful result. These related quests have consequential choices; this page is a progression route, not a promise of a particular family ending.
If Ladies of the Wood is already completed
Check for the Baron conversation and the next active objective. If neither advances, record the exact completed objectives, save type, platform, build and mods. Keep the current slot before comparing an earlier save. The two sources do not establish a safe universal reset command or prove that every stalled conversation is this dependency.
