Simulation lets you answer questions about selected Witcher 2 decisions without importing a save file. Choose that option when starting the run, then answer Morvran Voorhis during Imperial Audience. It does not require that you own or replay The Witcher 2.
What the interview asks about
The legacy interview covers Aryan La Valette, Roche versus Iorveth, the rescue decision, Síle de Tansarville and Letho. Treat each answer as background for this new playthrough rather than a test with one correct answer.
| Priority | Decision to watch |
|---|---|
| Preserve the possibility of meeting Letho | Say Letho is alive |
| Recreate your previous run | Use the choices you remember, including the route and rescue |
| Start without importing anything | Select simulation at new-game setup and answer the interview |
Keep a checkpoint before the interview
- Check the simulation choice in the new-game setup rather than looking for a missing external file.
- Keep a manual save before Imperial Audience if you want to reconsider an answer.
- Read the dialogue carefully, especially the Letho answer.
- Continue the story. An answer does not immediately unlock every related later encounter.
If you are already far into the campaign, replaying dialogue from an earlier save changes that earlier branch. It does not rewrite the history of a separate later save. Decide whether the encounter matters enough to restart from that checkpoint.
Simulation, import and cross progression
These are different tasks. Simulation selects story history; importing uses an existing file where the platform supports it; cross progression transfers your Witcher 3 character. A cloud-transfer problem is not solved by changing the Witcher 2 simulation option. This guide uses the historical interview route and does not claim every platform has identical import menus.
